It’s Our Time to Eat

Two years after the 2008 post-election violence rocked Kenya, I went searching back through my archives and discovered a strong black and white series, which has a more documentary approach to the subject matter.

A disputed election in December 2007 between opposition leader Raila Odinga Mwai Kibaki led to a political crisis that exposed large cracks in the system. The feuding leaders took their battle to the streets, pitting ethnicities against each other. Over 1,000 people were killed, and a half a million displaced in a brutal internecine war.
