Journalist / Media Consultant

My as yet unseen work that is the basis for a book, at left, will be screened at Cable Street Studios in London on October 7, 2010 at 19:00. This event is organized by ASA collective. I unfortunately cannot be there, but for those who can, check their Facebook Page for more information.

Program for the night:

Kramer O’Neill – Till Human Voices Wake Us; Anne Holmes – Color me Night; Raoul Gatepin – Piramid; Liz & Max Haarala Hamilton – Modern China; Leonora Chan – Theatres; Helga Steppan – My World; Atul Loke – The Great Imitator; Srinivas Kuruganti – Orissa; Teru Kuwayama – Afghanistan; Sohrab Hura – Pati Color Me Night was born of several years of travel in Western and SE Asia, Africa, Europe and the United States.

The projection is a glimpse at a body of work that will appear in book format, which is a collection of images, words, memories, and rewritten glories; moments lived under the cover of night when the world goes to sleep, and another one awakens. They are not meant to tell the story of the persons pictured, but rather, narrate the textural memory I formed of certain intervals or events around the time I made the photographs. This is a personal work, and a big departure from my documentary reporting on conflict, human rights and environmental issues, though it’s not an indication that the latter endeavors have ceased.
